Where are the embedded journalists now?

Where did they all go?  The embedded journalists, where did they go?  Is it not important that we know exactly what is going on in the field of operations at all times?  It was during the Bush administration.  Why not now?
Funny how things loose importance based on the media's relationship with the current administration.  It does give me the feeling that the embedded journalists were not interested in journalism at all when they basically demanded to go with our troops during the Bush administration and our settling a debt with terrorists in the middle east.  It does seem now like they must have been hoping to be the lead reporter/ journalist to 'discover' the next My Lai massacre.  But only if it happened (or didn't happen) under the Bush administration.  Do you find it interesting that now O is responsible for all that goes on in our theaters of operation, and now it is American fighting men and women who are dying in larger numbers than any time in the war, the embedded journalists are no where to be found.
O can apparently take his time deciding if we need more troops while our brave men and women die in larger numbers week by week.  Global warming, the farce, on the other hand is an emergency that must be handled now or people MAY die sometime in the distant future.  The Health Care Reform Legislation must be handled now because people may die someday if this reform isn't passed NOW.  The stimulus package had to be passed without being read or the entire US economy would have collapsed over night, or sometime in the next year or two.  Oh, but our brave men and women fighting a war, they can wait.  Why would journalists who are apparently 'in bed' with the current administration want to be embedded with our fighting forces and have to report on men and women dying while O sleeps on this decision?
Hey, journalists, check yourselves.  Is this the legacy you want to leave behind?  Do you really want to be remembered as a worthless follower?  One who never challenged a single premise?  You really want some notoriety?  How about actually doing some research, question with boldness, stand for something, anything, be honest, face the truth head on.

   Or, continue being spineless weasels,

Christian Science Monitor drops the ball

I review several sources for information.  One old reliable source for me has been the Christian Science Monitor.  I am not sure why I use it, it just has another perspective, less than polished reporters, or journalist, and not very cutting edge stories.  I guess just a respite from the main stream stuff.

Today I noticed a story about how Fox News, or at least Glenn Beck missed the irony Anita Dunn was trying to display by mentioning Chairman Mao and Mother Teresa in the same speech.  What amazed me and disheartened me was that here is another Christian, (I thought) organization who is NOT raising the red flags and letting the people see what this administrations is up to.  Anita Dunn specifically said Chairman Mao is one of the political philosophers she turns to most to make political points, or in this case just one point.

You know what I want, like that matters?  I want facts.  Let me decide if someone is lying to me, or not.  Let me decide if someone is being 'ironic'.  You know, some of the best judges of character and lie detecting I have ever known had no formal education.  One does not need a college degree to understand these people in appointed or elected positions, like Anita Dunn.  Sometimes all you need is the evidence right in front of you.

Christian Science Monitor got this one wrong.  Lately, they have done that a lot.

Please be vigilant.  We can not depend on anyone to do it for us.

Is Roger Goodell and Idiot?

Look, I don't care if you love Rush or hate him.  At least two things SHOULD bother you about Goodell's comments about keeping Rush from becoming an owner of any team in the NFL.

First, what comments is Goodell referring to?  The same comments that NO ONE can actually find any documentation of.  I mean if Rush said any of the crap I am hearing about today, then where are the sound bytes?  Where are the transcripts?  Media Matters, an oxymoron for whatever they claim to be... oh, this, right from their website:

"Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media."

They say it themselves, they are dedicated to monitoring, blah blah blah, you can read it.  Well, where are these quotes from Rush?  No one has yet been able to produce either sound bytes or transcripts.  Can I tell you something?  I subscribe to Rush.  I listen and I read the transcripts.  They are there, right on his site.  He provides the mp3's and the transcripts of his show right on his site, so why can't any of these so called "monitors" produce just one of the comments they are attributing to Rush.  I will tell you why as if you did not know.  The critics, just like Roger Goodell, are liars and they are ignorant.  Unaware of the truth, which does not much matter to them anyway.

Second, did you catch who was approved to be a part owner of the Miami Dolphins?  Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas.  Let's see, has she said anything that could be considered controversial?  I mean, she is just a singer or a member of the band.  I am sure she has far less impact on people than Rush.  Let's take a look at some the song lyrics before they disappear completely from the internet, oh wait, they are actually recorded for all to hear in Black Eyed Peas' songs.  Here is just a sample from a song called 'Pump It":

Ha ha ha

Pump it

Ha ha ha

And pump it (louder) [4x]

Turn up the radio

Blast your stereo

Right

Niggas wanna hate on us (who)

Niggas be envious (who)

And I know why they hatin’ on us (why)

Cause that’s so fabulous (what)

I’ma be real on us (c’mon)

Nobody got nuttin’ on us (no)

Girls be all on us, from London back down to the US (s, s)

I will take this opportunity to thank Roger Goodell, the NFL commisioner for showing his true colors, as an uninformed, spineless, ignoramus.  A true hypocrit.

I do want to acknowledge that I left out about a hundred examples of NFL players commiting crimes this year, and last, coaches punching other coaches in the face, breaking their jaws, players abusing animals, players shooting people, or killing them while driving dui.  Go ahead, I dare ya, prove me wrong on any of those.

Intro to Doc Mike's Take

Hello to whomever might find themselves at this little blog.

I was going about my life.  Quietly.  Enjoying the peace of my little homestead here on a hill just outside of the Yamhill Valley in Oregon.  I had retired from the U. S. Public Health Service and took a job working part time for a Dental Corporation as a dentist, on the coast of Oregon.  I watched in awe as the government of this great country slowly but deliberately took us down a very ugly slope into an abyss of fiscal irresponsibility, and morale corruption.

I could sit back quietly no more.  To some people my life looks like a total makeover, to others, closer to me, they see that the inside Doc Mike has just come out to join his patriotic brothers and sisters in restoring this country to the values that our founding fathers protected for us.

Today I am politically active.  Helping my local GOP team, constantly reading and responding to political issues and politician's ridiculous actions, researching stories and issues, responding accordingly either here on this blog or on my blogtalkradio show Left Coast Righteo.

I believe we are truly in a historic time, maybe the most historic time of our lives.  My goal is to enlighten or educate as many people as I can, while learning as I go along, or in some way just spread the news about what our government is up to, what they are doing either publicly or privately when I can get my hands on some inside information, which is rare, but happens occasionally.  I also want to constantly point out the hypocrisy of people who are in the public eye.

So, if you will, check back once in awhile and see what you find, like today's entry about Roger Goodell, the NFL commish.
